Summer Class: Li’l Buds Original Kids Cabaret (ages 7-13)

Students will create their very own musical cabaret show. The ensemble will select songs and scenes to present at the end of the session. Great for beginners and experienced performers. We will challenge your child with choreography, vocal production, singing technique and acting exercises that will help them grow individually and as an ensemble.

$350 for the 1-week session

Summer Baby Buds: Adventures in Imagination (ages 3-6)

At the Edge Theater each day is a new opportunity for adventure in this introduction to dramatic arts concentrating on imaginative play and collaborative work. In this program, we will be focusing primarily on imagination and creative movement. Students will learn how to express themselves artistically through movement and dance, acting games and creative dramatic exercises. They will learn how to work in a collaborative environment and will be introduced to essential theatrical skills such as vocal production and body awareness. This is a great introductory class that will give them the building blocks for future theatrical studies. A healthy snack is provided each day at 10:15am.

$275/full-session or $60/day to drop-in

Summer Musical: Into the Woods (ages 10+)

July 24 – August 11, 2017

In this three-week session, students will be living the life of a summer stock performer putting on a high caliber musical! This session encompasses all aspects of the theatrical arts, including rehearsal, design, construction and performance. Ensemble performers will be challenged to master complex music, choreography and follow professional direction. Technical interns will work side by side with Ensemble Performers and Teaching Artists, and will be in charge of the theatrical design of sets, costumes and props. This is a great and challenging experience for students with some acting experience, students interested in professional acting, or students who are currently pursuing acting careers.

About the Show

Be careful what you wish for as Stephen Sondheim’s and James Lapine’s cockeyed fairytale comes to life in this adaptation of their groundbreaking, Tony Award-winning musical. Into the Woods JR. features all of your favorite characters – Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Jack (and his beanstalk) and the Witch in this lyrically rich retelling of classic Brothers Grimm fables.

$900 for a three week session

Summer Play: Aesop’s Fables (ages 7-14)

July 10-21, 2017

In this two-week session, the students will be living the life of a summer stock performer and will be challenged to put up a play almost entirely on their own! This session encompasses all aspects of the Theatrical Arts, including rehearsal, design, construction and performance. Students will see their show come to life and enjoy the rewards of performance. The students will be in charge of the theatrical design of sets, costumes and props, and will also bring those designs to life, using skills they have mastered. They will be challenged to assist in direction and essentially will create their own production from the ground up.

About the Show

Four of Aesop’s best loved fables…  ’The Fox and the Crow,’ ’The Hare and the Tortoise,’ ’The Donkey In the Lion’s Skin,’ and finally, ’The Fox and the Sour Grapes,’ are delightfully created in this interesting approach to storyteller’s theatre.

$600 for a two week session

They will be challenged to assist in choreography and direction. A family invited performance will be held on the final day of camp, Friday, June 30 at 3:00pm.

About the Show

Lion cub prince Simba grows up in the African heartland until tragedy forces him to run away. He ultimately learns to take his rightful place in the animal kingdom, in this musical version of the Disney animated film.
